Summer In The City With L.K.Bennett
Summer is officially 18 days away. How crazy is that. Although I must admit, I'm sat typing this blog post with a cup of tea, in a wooly jumper and I have just turned the heating on. Hello June in the UK!
I have been very excited to share this head to toe city look with you guys. If you are familiar with my blog, or my personal style, you may already know just how much I love L.K.Bennett's style. I personally adore wearing their smart casual clothes on a daily basis, it's the perfect off-duty style that just looks so effortlessly chic and sophisticated. I was also very lucky to have interned for them back in August 2015, as a Press Intern (which was an incredible experience!!). So in today's blog post, I have collaborated with L.K.Bennett and picked out probably my favourite look from their entire Summer Lookbook!
This summer I have been on the lookout for some slightly longer shorts than those typical beach shorts we all seem to gravitate towards at some point in our lives! Now that I'm making my way through my twenties (slowly but surely!), I have started wearing slightly longer shorts - I think everyone goes through that stage? I recently looked back at some of my old summer photos, I have always been a fan of high waisted skirts/shorts. I find them so so flattering and they just work! I tend not to wear any other style of shorts when I'm out and about.
These Enya Light Denim Tie Shorts are the one. The tie at the waist on these Enya Shorts are probably my favourite way of styling flowy shorts. They're made from a gorgeous blend of linen and cotton which makes them incredibly lightweight and comfortable for walking around the city streets. I have always found it hard to find that perfect length that still brings a youthful edge to your summer outfit. They almost look like culotte-style shorts, they look very flattering!
BLAZER MEETS SHORTS
Blazers are probably one of the easiest ways of smartening up any casual outfit. We all have those days when we struggle to find something to wear, when this happens I will often grab a blazer - it makes even a pair of jeans and a t-shirt look smart, right!? Genius! I'll be honest, I have never worn blazers in the summer before, but linen blazers are so lightweight and work perfectly for those slightly cooler days and evenings. I'm now really excited to try more linen coloured summer blazers this summer! This Enya Light Denim Boyfriend Blazer is a gorgeous take on the Boyfriend Blazer style. Seriously, send me a blazer and matching tie waist shorts any day!
Embroidered shirts and blouses are everywhere at the moment. I have been eyeing them up for months! As I've mentioned in previous blog posts, I have a huge love for long sleeved blouses, rolled up on the sleeve. You can never go wrong with a white blouse, they are probably one of my most invested pieces in my wardrobe. You can pair them with any coloured linen blazer with shorts, the Jazz White Embroidered Shirt will be my go-to this summer.
ACCESORIES ACCESORIES ACCESORIES!
It's the small things in life that make the difference! There is nothing worse than carrying a huge tote bag around in the summer if you don't need to. I have been loving small cross-bodies at the moment. I recently unboxed the Mulberry Clifton bag on my YouTube channel and talked a little bit more in detail about why I wanted to invest in a smaller bag for summer. This Megan White Mini Crossbody Bag is such a useful size for carrying the essentials - your phone, your wallet and some keys. That's all I ever want to carry around in the heat!
I tend to fluctuate between loafers, sandals and kitten heels throughout summer. If I'm going to the city and I'm wearing a smarter look then I would usually pick something like these Mira Embroidered Kitten Sling-Backs. The embroidered pattern on these is beautiful. They're actually incredibly conformable to walk in with their sling-backs, and you barely notice the heel (which I love!). I've worn L.K.Bennett heels for years, and I personally really love how wearable their shoes are. You could also totally wear these kind of shoes to the office in the summer as well with some tailored trousers, they're a great balance of smart casual!
After my recent trip to Cambridge, I am ready to plan many more city trips throughout the summer! You would have expected me to have visited Cambridge and Oxford beforehand but no... I have never. Shameful I know! So I think Oxford is the next stop in the travel agenda, and I cannot wait to bring out some more city styles! Thank you for reading! I only ever like to share my genuine style on my blog, and work with brands that I absolutely love myself and could not recommend more.
