It's only days before another year begins and there is never a better time to set some achievable New Years' resolutions. I do find it important to reflect back on the year and regain perspective on what goals to set moving forward for the year ahead. Whilst I cannot lie, 2016 has been a whirlwind of a year, I am now ready for what I hope to be the best year yet. I have changed a huge amount this year and I am ready to continue to grow and adapt to achieve what I most want out of life.
For the last few years, I haven't been able to prioritise fitness as much as I wanted to. But it honestly has to be one of the best ways for me to function at my optimum. Fitness has so many benefits, it has the ability to combat stress and fatigue - it gives you energy and the necessary motivation to be better, every single run, workout, or class. And most importantly, it has the ability to make you feel good. Since regularly running my 5K runs, I cannot tell you how much healthier I have felt and how it leaves you with a healthier mindset. This year, I am making 2017 the year that fitness becomes a priority and a healthy part of my routine and my life.
SETTING CAREER GOALS
My career is a huge part of my life, and I love doing work that I love. This year I want to be even more ambitious than the last, and push myself to achieve the career goals I want to achieve by 2018. There's no time like the present. This year I am proud to have juggled three jobs entirely on my own and pushing them all to be bigger and better has been incredibly motivating in itself, especially when you have built up work entirely from scratch. Setting up a business is incredibly rewarding, so if that's something you want to do this new year, just do it. Set yourself career goals, anything is possible if you work hard enough at it.
FRIENDS & FAMILY
Life is way too short. I lost a very special family member this Autumn, which is why going forward I want to make an extra effort to spend more time with my family, take more photographs and make more memories. I've realised life can throw anything at you, at any time, and sometimes you are unprepared. I am also incredibly lucky to have the friends that I do, and I know going into the New Year, I want to schedule in as much time with them, no matter where they are in the world. It's so easy to send a simple text or video call, after all, technology has made this all too easy. So no more excuses there, right?!
I love challenging myself with new goals every year, but there is nothing worse than feeling as though they are unachievable. So this year, try setting yourself some achievable goals. It'll make you feel amazing when you achieve them, no matter how big or small they may be.
