An Afternoon at The Pig

I have loved the New Forest since I first discovered the place three years ago when I started University. It quickly became the place I used to escape to when times got tough. I would run out in the middle of it, and I cherished every single minute of it! About two years ago, a friend recommended The Pig... and I made my first visit shortly afterwards for lunch with my mum. Picture garden to plate food, a rural remote setting, and a stately country house with the most gorgeous interior design. Every corner is instagrammable!

There are times when I do genuinely rack my brains for inspiration and can really struggle to find new, inspiring and beautiful locations to create content for Imogen & James. I think many other bloggers can relate that we ourselves are the only ones who put pressure on ourselves ... I personally push myself to create stunning imagery time and time again. The photographs are really what I like Imogen & James to be about. I am endlessly getting excited over where to photograph next. Having recently travelled back down south, it hit me that I had never taken my camera to The Pig. So I wanted to take you guys to probably one of my favourite places in the New Forest - The Pig, in Brockenhurst. This place is an experience is its own right!

The Pig is one of those places that you would stumble across by chance! It's hidden away, down a short dusty path, before opening up onto a beautiful lawn with Scots Pine and oak trees. Whether you fancy a sit down meal made with local produce, hand picked vegetables from their garden, or a lemonade on their lawn chairs like we did this time, it's such a beautiful place to visit! If someone offered me a stay in one of their lodges or cabins hidden away in their forest surroundings, I wouldn't say no!

I can be quite picky with dresses, but I'm a strong believer that when you find the perfect dress: buy it and wear it long afterwards. Ever since the Self-Portrait brand caught my eye, I have had my heart set on finding the perfect summer lace dress. Whether you have a wedding to go to this summer, a graduation, a formal event or even an outing at a country house like The Pig, a dress like this one would be a great investment. It has got to be the most beautiful dress that has ever sat in my wardrobe and the detailing on this piece is amazingly intricate.

I've paired this dress with my most used and worn bag on Imogen & James - the famous Mulberry Clifton Bag which I feel has definitely gotten it's money's worn by now with the amount I wear it! It's a truly timeless bag in my eyes, and is the perfect size to carry around the essentials and avoid lugging around more than you need. You can see my full video unboxing down below!

Where do you tend to go to escape the city noise on the weekend? Have you ever visited The Pig?
