Succulent Potting & Baies Diptyque Candle
With a lot of University work to be getting on with lately and the new puppy, I haven't had much time to do something for myself and truly relax, and having drowned many of my cactuses in the last couple of months from overwatering (I have definitely learnt my lesson now) I decided to pop down to the local garden centre and pick up some more succulents and do a little bit of DIY home potting. It is surprisingly VERY therapeutic!!
I also discovered The White Company's new homeware range and saw this gorgeous white glazed terracotta planter which I thought would look amazing next to my new Baies Diptyque candle on the mantle piece in the lounge.
If you're interested in doing this at home, all you need is some stones, cactus soil and some cactuses, succulents or alpines of your choice. I chose 3 small ones which fit perfectly in this white glazed terracotta planter. First, I picked some stones from the garden and then washed and dried them. I then placed them at the bottom of the pot to help drain the water in future and followed with the cactus soil.
When you are happy with the height of the soil and where you want the plants to sit. I then took the plants out of their pots and broke down their soil and roots one by one and pushed them into the soil in the pot.
It's really as simple as that, its now sat on my mantle piece and I am so happy with how it looks. It's sat next to my new Baies Diptyque candle which smells so fresh and fruity - kind of like a floral rose scent. I had seen these candles all throughout my Instagram feed for months and its known as Diptyque's best selling candle so I thought I would give it a go and I have no regrets! It also looks amazing in its pot too (going to try and make this one last!!). But I've decided when it eventually does run out I will use it as a make up brush holder because its just too pretty to throw away!
Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you guys have ever tried this too?!
