Eight Hour Creams by Elizabeth Arden
Over the past couple of months, I have really gotten back into skincare products. Does anyone else go through phases with this!? Sometimes I can become quite lazy with my routine, and then other times, usually when I discover new products, I become quite obsessed by it all and make it a full on pampering routine every evening in my bathroom.
I had never tried Elizabeth Arden's best-selling 8 hour creams before, but I was very excited to give them a go, having heard so much about them. I have spent the last 2 weeks trying them out daily to let you guys know what I thought of them.
First of all - my first impressions. I love the packaging, they are in a white luxurious and classic style. All the products have a very similar smell to them (some more intense than others). It's a really calming and fresh scent, which I personally find very relaxing!
Although I didn't feel I needed this product, as I haven't been suffering with excessive dry skin lately, I still used this Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant and I felt like it made my skin softer. It is designed to be used anywhere on the skin, and it basically restores and soothes the skin from dryness. It's one of those staples that's great to have in the house, particularly for people who suffer with problem areas of dry skin.
I was very excited about this Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick! I suffer with very dry/chapped lips at times and I always feel the need to use them. If I'm running late in the mornings, I will usually just apply a lip balm. I hadn't heard much about this particular Eight Hour Lip Protectant Stick but I can now say, having tried this for 2 weeks solid, it ranks closely with how I feel about my all-time favourite Jo Malone Vitamin E Lip Conditioner. It is seriously moisturising and leaves your lips lovely and soft. The lipstick style packaging also makes it really quick and easy to apply.
Over the last fortnight, I have been staying up in North Yorkshire and walking Mason (my little daxie) to the beach and back everyday. It has been bitterly cold down by the sea, so I thought it would give me the perfect opportunity to test this Eight Hour Cream Intensive Moisturising Hand Treatment. Now although I don't tend to suffer with dry hands from the cold, I still found it to be a lovely hand moisturiser and left my hands feeling soft. Having said that, my cousin was here last week and her hands were extremely dry from the cold, and she found that it had an immediate impact on the dry areas. So I would say if you suffer from dry skin, or if you're outdoors a lot, this one is definitely worth giving a go!
I used the Eight Hour Cream Intensive Daily Moisturiser For Face for the full 2 weeks but I have to say that my foundation didn't seem to layer on top of it as well as my staple Liz Earle Dry/Sensitive Moisturiser. Having said that, the Elizabeth Arden Moisturiser still left my skin feeling super soft and smooth, and it's also an SPF 15 product, which has been great for no make up days.
I have to be honest, I never usually used a nighttime moisturiser as I personally didn't really see the benefits over the years, and recently I have loved applying my Luna by Sunday Riley sleeping oil before bed and nothing else. Simply because that worked for me and I can get lazy sometimes with my routine. But having tried the Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Nighttime Miracle Moisturiser for the last 2 weeks now, I have definitely seen some pretty great improvements. My skin definitely looks more hydrated! Considering I'm currently staying in North Yorkshire by the windy beach and I'm prone to having slightly dry skin - the fact that my skin is looking more hydrated than usual says this cream is pretty great if you ask me ! It's actually a thicker consistency than I imagined it would be, but it doesn't feel heavy on the skin once you've spread it all over. It has a very relaxing lavender scent. My skin is looking radiant and moist since using this, I would definitely recommend, particularly if you have dry skin like me!
