Is anyone else wondering how on earth we are already through the first quarter of 2016!? It hit me when I was writing the title of this blog post... 2016 is flying by! Anyways, onto the actual topic today of beauty - I don't think I have ever done a monthly favourites, but I definitely think this will be the start of many to come!
Monthly favourites are basically the products I have used religiously throughout the month that have basically made it to my favourites list. Some are new mind-blowing "oh my goodness how have I never tried this product before", and some of course are old rediscovered little gems.
Probably the main mind-blowing product for me this month was investing in the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, which I picked up in London and already talked about in my last blog post (Spring Natural Everyday Dewy Make Up). I am such a fan of natural looking foundations yet with flawless coverage, and this one really is just so luxurious and beautifully radiant on the skin. It find it lasts all day on my skin too, unlike some other foundations I have tried in the past. I have been using this one everyday since I purchased it, I'm converted.
My second monthly favourite is also a completely new product for me. I was coming to the end of my My Burberry perfume and I fancied a change. So I decided to go for Si by Giorgio Armani which smells really sophisticated. I am rubbish when it comes to describing scents but I would say it's a mixture of fresh, floral & woody scents. Having used Miss Dior for years, I would also say it smells like a more mature version of Miss Dior which is exactly what I was looking for. If you're ever close to a fragrance counter, I would definitely give this one a spray! I am absolutely loving it - it's my new go-to everyday perfume.
Throughout March, I had a bit of "why is my hair so flat all the time" slump. I kept looking back to old photos from 2013 where my hair seemed to have so much more life! And then it hit me, I used to use the Aveda Volumising Tonic literally everyday at school and it was so good, because it's one of those rare products that gives you volume yet doesn't make your hair look very knotty and unhealthy (which I have experienced with other products before and it's really not a great look!). So throughout March, I have been using the Aveda Volumising Tonic again daily, and it's really fantastic!
I felt like I needed to add this to my favourites this month, it's my favourite go-to mascara because it just looks so natural. My friend recommended this to me years ago, and I quickly became hooked. I guess I forgot about it a few months ago as I was trying some new mascaras but this month I rediscovered it and I've been wearing it non stop again. With a couple of coats, it gives you thick defined lashes without any clumping and stays on all day long. It's definitely a mascara I keep coming back to because I know I will get my value for money out of it, and they last for months!
This is also another rediscovered favourite of mine. I bought this just over a year ago and it somehow ended up at the bottom of my make-up drawer, and when I found it again last month, I haven't stopped wearing this and my new Tom Ford Indian Rose lipstick. Both lipsticks are perfect everyday shades that really add to a natural make-up look which I do daily. I have tried to swatch it above so you guys can see what the colour looks like, but this Dior Nude Lipstick - Grege shade is just a gorgeous peachy nude, I am wearing it in my Winter Knits blog post so do go check that out if you want to see it on!
So that is everything! I have been loving these products throughout this month, have you guys ever tried any of them? I would love to know what you think!
